Health Care Delivery Model
ANSWERS
The manner of nursing care delivery and skill mix are the two essential elements of nursing care delivery models. While skill mix is referred to as direct care nurse classifications, the method of nursing care delivery refers to nurses’ autonomous or collaborative work to offer care to a group of patients. Prior studies have often concentrated on just one element at a time (mode or skill mix). There isn’t much study that looks into both elements at once. After adjusting for nurse demographics, workload characteristics, and work environment factors, this study looked at the impact of nursing care delivery modality and skill mix on emotional weariness and job satisfaction. Survey results from 416 medical-surgical registered nurses in British Columbia were used in a secondary analysis. Hierarchical multiple regression and moderated regression were used to examine the data. When caring for more acute patients, registered nurses in a skill mix with licensed practical nurses reported less emotional weariness than those in a skill mix without licensed practical nurses. How nursing care was delivered was not connected to nurses’ results, while elements related to the workplace environment were the best predictors of both nurses’ outcomes. Patient acuity and emotional tiredness were correlated, but the link was controlled by skill mix. Nurse management should make investments in the working circumstances for nurses.
