Employer engagement and retention are higher in organizations with an inclusive culture that promotes cooperation, adaptability, fairness, and equal involvement (Helbig, 2020). The healthcare sector is regularly evolving and will do so in the next years. Nurse managers and leaders must adjust to the changes and train their teams to deal with them. Nurse executives and managers prioritize patient safety, staff security, productivity, and achieving shared objectives. In order to improve the quality of patient care, nurse leaders and managers analyze and evaluate current patient care procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
By assuring effectiveness, gathering and analyzing data, and conducting “constant evaluation of quality indicators and clinical outcomes,” they also aim to deliver a favorable outcome for patients and their families (Helbig, 2020). Using Deming’s ideas, nursing leaders may assist the healthcare industry in adapting by utilizing quality improvement and education and including all nurses in the transition process. To deliver excellent patient outcomes, nurse leaders must guide a team to success by utilizing the existing tools and systems.
