QUESTION
Diandra,
Good job addressing most of the items in the discussion prompt. How would you address the following item in the discussion prompt?
List at least two of the most effective sentences in the essay, offering a full discussion of how and why they were effective for you as a reader. Identify and explain at least one lesson you learned from reading this essay that will help you with your own comparison and contrast essay.
I do not think you need the Russell reference. Rather, you need to give credit to Russell in the Ingram reference . For the in-text citation and the reference, you give credit to the authors of the article, such as Ingram. I listed a URL describing the basic formats of APA and references.

You can find extensive information on the APA style in our textbook in Chapter 14 (Russell, 2016, pp. 359– 379) though it is based on the 6th edition rather than the current 7th edition.

The article perfectly compares the IPad to the Kindle. It uses an effective approach and sentences to bring out the contrast in a pellucid manner. Through the analysis, consumers or users may easily make a choice based on their preferences. The authors have used some sentences that are catchy and perfectly sum up the comparison they are addressing. For instance, some of the article’s effective sentences are: “Secondly, controlling an iPad is easier. Yes, KindleKindle has a touch screen, but as its e-ink, it works with a noticeable delay. It means you won’t be happy to pinch to zoom on your Paper white every few minutes.” The above sentence is effective for the following reasons. First of all, it succinctly sums why controlling an iPad is easier compared to a kindle. It also provides the specific features of the KindleKindle that make it unfavorable in ease of use compared to an iPad. Besides, it offers an example of the difficulty of using a kindle in relation to an iPad, citing the need for zooming on the paper intermittently. Another quite effective sentence is, “Because a Kindle is a dedicated e-reading machine, it offers features an iPad lacks, long battery life and e-ink screen.” The sentence perfectly sums up why KindleKindle I more dedicated e-reading machine by comparing its features to those of iPad. The reader can easily identify or relate to the aspects that make the KindleKindle more a more dedicated e-reading device compared to the iPad.
Additionally, the article is a good blueprint for writing comparison and contrast essays. One can learn numerous elements and competencies for writing effective and clear comparison essays. For instance, through point by point system utilized, one learns that you need to address the comparisons exhaustively in addressing a certain difference. Moreover, the article is logically arranged in a flowing manner from each point to the other. This is a perfect approach to comparting two items, ideologies or organizations. The author also needs to provide substantive examples of each item that make it better or worse than the other.
