Peer Answers Workplace Environment Assessment
ANSWERS
Why do we use peer assessment at the University of the People?
Peer assessment is a technique for increasing students’ understanding of a topic by reviewing the work of others and receiving feedback from others (the University of Strathclyde, n.). We use it at the University of the People because it provides us with insight into the ideas and perspectives of our classmates while also sharpening our critical thinking skills (University of the People, n.).
What are the advantages of peer evaluation?
Peer assessment has numerous advantages. Let me introduce you to a few of them. To begin with, we can receive feedback from more than one person simultaneously (the University of Strathclyde, n.). Generally, we can only get one piece of feedback from the instructor. However, in the peer assessment, we can receive multiple bits of feedback from other students in addition to the instructors. It can give you more opportunities to improve your writing skills and delve deeper into a topic. Following that, we must participate in peer assignments. We cannot be passive when providing feedback because providing feedback involves the creation of meaning or knowledge (the University of Strathclyde, n.). Passive students do not have opportunities to express themselves in traditional al classes. However, in peer assessment, we must be active and express our opinions and provide feedback on other students’ views. Teamwork and cooperation are developed through the Peer Assessment system (University of the People, n.). When you receive and provide feedback, you must collaborate with others.
Different students When you receive feedback from others, you must respectfully listen to their opinions. Also, when providing feedback to other students, you must express yourself respectfully (University of the People, n.). Peer assessments can provide numerous benefits in this manner.
3 What are the difficulties in providing peer feedback in peer assessment?
In my opinion, the most challenging aspect of providing peer feedback in peer assessment is expressing one’s opinion constructively and adequately. In peer evaluation, we don’t see each other’s faces. As a result, if my feedback is not constructive and appropriate, there is a chance of misinterpretation. Giving negative feedback can sometimes hurt the feelings of other students. So, I believe it is critical to provide constructive feedback and express one’s opinion so that other students can understand and accept it.
4 What are the difficulties in receiving peer feedback in peer assessment?
The most challenging aspect of peer feedback in peer assessment is respectfully listening to other students’ opinions. Some students may provide you with negative feedback on my work. They gave me negative feedback because my job was incomplete or because they held a different opinion than mine. In any case, I believe that respectfully listening to and accepting their ideas is essential. Because any feedback can provide you with opportunities to improve yourself, I’ll try to hear what other students think about this mindset.
