Compelling Problem Statement
Having a compelling problem statement in a grant proposal can be one of the things that appeals to funders. Organizations need to consider what items to include in a grant proposal that will highlight the positive aspects of their programs. Using information from this unit’s readings, answer the following questions:
• What would be one program that your not-for-profit organization would offer to the community? Provide details about the program, such as who the program would serve, and what the structure of the program would be.
• What type of information about the program could you include in a grant proposal to make your proposal more convincing to funders?

Grant Proposal for Mental Health Services for Young Adults
Young people living in foster care in a different state in America are most victims of mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety disorders, among others prevalent to young people. Foster cares have an age limit, leading to high rates of young people who live in the streets without shelter. Many of these young adults, aside from registering mental health cases: happen to be victims of substance abuse, sexual and physical abuse, and early pregnancy (Mitchell et al., 2017).
Most of these young people encounter financial challenges while trying to further their education. For those who have cleared school: getting a good-paying job is also a challenge as some lack the grooming needed to work with people. Due to the harsh life that they are exposed to in foster care: the young adults lack a sense of worthiness and social skills. When it comes to emotional stability, most of them do not know how to cope with stressors or handle pressure, therefore succumbing to mental health disparities (Mitchell et al., 2017).
To deal with the situation at hand: the program seeks to establish a team of professional counsellors who can enhance the social and emotional well-being of young adults. This program’s forming is motivated by the knowledge that these young adults, mostly the ones with mental challenges, need a facility that can attend to them without charges. The project’s goal is to become socially active in the community that the young adults live in, getting appropriate housing and decent jobs.
The project will establish suitable sports activities and use a strength-based model that will engage the young adults in using their talents and gifts. The team will collaborate with social workers and correctional institutions in the community. The project requires human resources to be effective in helping young adults.
