Dissemination of Evidence-Based Practice Outcome in Nursing
QUESTION
Discussion: Developing a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice
As your EBP skills grow, you may be called upon to share your expertise with others. While EBP practice is often conducted with unique outcomes in mind, EBP practitioners who share their results can both add to the general body of knowledge and serve as an advocate for the application of EBP.
In this Discussion, you will explore strategies for disseminating EBP within your organization, community, or industry.
To Prepare:
• Review the Resources and reflect on the various strategies presented throughout the course that may be helpful in disseminating effective and widely cited EBP.
o This may include: unit-level or organizational-level presentations, poster presentations, and podium presentations at organizational, local, regional, state, and national levels, as well as publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Reflect on which type of dissemination strategy you might use to communicate EBP.
Post at least two dissemination strategies you would be most inclined to use and explain why. Explain which dissemination strategies you would be least inclined to use and explain why. Identify at least two barriers you might encounter when using the dissemination strategies you are most inclined to use. Be specific and provide examples. Explain how you might overcome the barriers you identified.

Dissemination of Evidence-Based Practice Outcome in Nursing
Dissemination in evidence-based practice in nursing refers to distributing specific information and resources to particular public health or specific clinical practice audience. The objective is to increase and promote widespread knowledge regarding evidence-based intervention. (Regmi, 2012) Additionally, it intends to improve its patient outcomes and enhance implementation. Disseminating evidence-based results of a project can either be done through external methods or internal methods. Regardless of the method considered, the nurse should ensure that it is effective.
The evidence-based practice continues to evolve; dissemination’s significance continues to be a priority in ensuring that patients are also well informed. The target audience’s constructive involvement characterizes effective dissemination: there has to be a collaboration between the nurses and other health practitioners. This enhances knowledge, understanding, and implementation of the suggested change in the work environment. According to Reinhardt et al., 2014, Healthcare target audiences’ major concern is how specified evidence fits into a particular framework and the implications of adopting the changes.
I would be more inclined to use the hospital board. The Hospital board is mainly inclusive of healthcare providers such as nurses, doctors, stakeholders, and other medical practitioners. In disseminating evidence-based practice to the hospital board, I would use one on one meeting. This helps me get quick feedback; the only barrier would be a lack of support from other medics.
My second strategy in disseminating evidence-based practice would be a presentation in professional organizations such as the American Nurses Association. The dissemination would be able to cover a bigger audience of nurses. Conferences in this setting normally are interactive; this would allow me to share and receive criticism from other nurse practitioners (Brownson et al., 2018). The barrier to this is the workload that might not give me time to prepare my presentation. However, I can overcome this by beginning my project earlier.
