The concept of self-entails how one perceives their abilities, behavior, and unique traits. It pertains to the extent to which ones’ belief about themselves, including one’s ability and how they describe themselves (Rüschenpöhler & Markic, 2019). The concept of truth is about one being in concurrence with reality and facts. My belief in the idea of self is that everyone needs to know their abilities to execute tasks well. As a researcher, this concept will help me learn my strength’s and I will be in a position to collect information I need and analyze it well. Understanding my weak areas too will help me know how I can seek help to better my research. For example, a weakness in collecting samples would be curbed by seeking help from the target population.
Truth is used to represent reality and is held as the opposite of falsehood. Being truthful is essential as it allows one to give undistorted information and avoid offering details that are not thoroughly researched. As a researcher, the concept of truth will be vital as it will help me deliver undistorted information. This means summarizing content without being biased and ensuring that the content does not have vague conceptions (Heffernan, 2020). Also, the concept of truth will assist me in abiding by the truth of qualitative research, hence achieving well-sought information in my research that other people could rely on in the future. Lastly, the concept of experience helps one be able to interact with the world. Experience is a primary concept as that impacts researchers. In this case, the experience will help me now relate ideas in the real world and the issues I am researching. More so, I will include environmental factors, emotions, and cognition to influence the research process.
