Initial Post Instructions
This discussion has three parts.

Read the following in your textbook: “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell (pp. 294-303). How well does this essay meet the following criteria: “Identify a Problem and Demonstrate That It Exists,” “Appeal to Your Audience,” “State Your Claim,” and “Propose One or More Solutions to the Problem”? (Russell, 2016, p. 283). Explain your answers with specific examples.
What problem and solution scenarios have you encountered in your education, work, training, or life in the past? How were the problems and solutions conveyed to you or your colleagues? Do you think the issues were clear and the solutions covered thoroughly? Why or why not? What problem and solution situations do you expect to encounter in your future career?
Using your Week 5 extended outline as a guide, choose one of the main points from the outline and write it as one complete, rich, full body paragraph for your cause and effect essay. Do not use the introduction paragraph or conclusion paragraph you wrote last week. Instead, write one of your full body paragraphs that you outlined last week. Then, address the following:
What additional details might you add to this paragraph to make it more appealing and clearer to your reader?
Identify the logic in this point. Does it hold up to scrutiny, or may you be falling prey to a logical fallacy?
Follow-Up Post Instructions
Respond to at least two peers or one peer and the instructor. Further the dialogue by providing more information and clarification by answering the following questions in each reply:

As a reader, what additional details would you like to see so that the details regarding the cause or effect is clearer and more engaging?

Part 1
Susan Glaspell in ‘Trifles’ clearly depicts the problem in the story. Minnie Foster seems to be uncheerful in her household. Glaspell (2016), shows how unhappy she was with her husband by how quiet she was around John Wright, who on the other hand did not fancy her singing. Minnie Foster was a cheerful girl and singing in a choir until her husband caused her to change to a reserved wife. Having no children and having a workaholic absentee husband, she found a companion in a canary. However, John Wright does not appear to like the pet.
This story is appealing to its audience by bringing out Minnie Foster’s loneliness. The death of John Wright is uncompressible and can be guessed to have resulted from the issues in the household. I felt that the solution to the problem was when John Wright died. Through the shreds of evidence manifested, one can believe that Minnie Foster might have indeed killed her husband by assuming that he killed her beloved canary.
Part 2
A scenario where I encountered a problem and solution situation was when I joined high school. My family and I had moved to a new neighborhood, and that meant forming new friendships with neighbors and school mates. It was not easy as the students seemed to have a cold shoulder, and I resulted in being a loner and a book warmer. I ended up becoming a teacher’s favorite due to my good performance. However, this brought malice and ill-treatment from my classmates. I became a victim of bullying, and many students were backbiting me. My grades were affected significantly, and my parents opted to transfer me to a different school. In my opinion, we could have handled the situation differently as I expect to encounter culture shock experiences in the future. According to Tutum, & Miikkulainen (2020), the important thing is to learn how to adapt to new environments and not running away from the problems in it.
